Music at Wylam
Music is an important part of our curriculum at Wylam First School and supports our ambition to deliver a creative curriculum that supports Character Education. We use Charanga for our whole school music curriculum but alongside this we also offer our pupils a range of whole class and individual lessons. Each year group has a focus instrument so that all children can learn through experience. From Y2 all children also experience a term of trumpet tuition. Alongside this we currently deliver individual lessons in keyboard and trumpets and group tuition through Rocksteady.
We are also a Sing Up Platinum school and hold weekly, whole school, singing sessions and an after school choir.
