Humanities at Wylam
The ambition of our Humanities Curriculum is to celebrate the rich heritage of Wylam and the Tyne Valley and develop in our pupils an understanding of their place in the world. History and Geography, although taught in discrete subjects, are also intertwined through studies of the locality where mapping skills unlock the story of the past and geographical features identify historical significance. Pupils experience enquiry based learning where substantive and disciplinary knowledge is taught equipping pupils with the skills to research and understand a range of sources and information, make links, ask questions and develop opinions.
